Pottery courses and holidays.
Ammonite Pottery is pleased to offer a variety of courses, aimed
at both complete beginners and experienced potters. With tuition
new students will enjoy exploring the use of clay; both on the
potter's wheel and hand building. I aim to offer help and inspiration
at the level required by each individual. Ammonite Pottery is also
keen to welcome experienced potters to enjoy working in a different
venue. The peace and beauty of the surrounding countryside is inspiring
and I feel that the studio is a wonderful space in which to create.
The pottery has four electric wheels and one kick wheel, a front
loading electric kiln and a gas Raku kiln. The available space
here, plus the abundance of wood is calling out for a wood burning
kiln building project!
The pottery is set in 12 acres of land. When not potting
there will be long afternoons to wander, sit by the waterfall or
sunbathe and read a book! Alternatively, cars can be hired
to enable you to visit the interesting places of the area; these
include the old Cité of Carcassonne, the beautiful hill
side site of Minerve, once a Cathar stronghold, the Mediterranean,
the Canal du Midi, and countless other places. Wine tasting trips
can be made as Vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see and
sleepy villages nestle amongst hills and flat plains. In the summer
there are fêtes and festivals most weekends and a chance
to join in the fun.
Catering
We offer delicious home cooked meals using fresh local ingredients. Most
