Raku..

Raku pottery is an ancient Japanese art where pots and sculptures are quickly fired in a specially designed open-air kiln, producing magical, lustrous colours and crackled effects.

The molten pots are plucked from the kiln with long metal tongs to be plunged into a series of sawdust and water where, with a hiss, the pot cools, leaving the potter with the final excitement of washing the soot from the pot to reveal jeweled colours and fiery patterns within the glaze.

Please contact for more details on Raku workshops.
